Noisy pipes, valves, and other air-related noises are often accepted as the signs of a functioning system. Excessive pump noise, cavitation, and cascading in terminal units are considered normal. But air in system water can cause corrosion, reduced efficiency, poorly heated or inadequately cooled rooms, accelerated component wear and on-going complaints. There is a device that will keep your system free of air permanently. Less maintenance, quiet operation, fewer costs!. Unlike conventional air eliminators or air scoops, the Spirovent completely eliminates 100% of the free air, 100% of the entrained air, and up to 99.6% of the dissolved air in the system. Consisting of woven copper wire soldered to a copper tube, the patented Spirotube creates a low velocity area in the Spirovent that scrubs the bubbles from the water. The air bubbles rise and collect in the air chamber before they are vented from the system via an integral automatic valve. Air problems become a thing of the past.
- Maintenance free
- No venting required
- Vent head is designed to stay dry, dirt and leak resistant
- 1/2" male thread port for pressure testing or remote venting of unwanted gases
- Quiet operation
- Increased component life
- Reduced oxygen based corrosion and pump cavitation
- The automatic air vent is guaranteed not to leak and can only be closed by the installer for a pressure test
- The air chamber has been designed so that dirt cannot reach the valve
- Large capacity collection chamber reduces the need for frequent draining
- Drain valve for flushing out the dirt
- Brass vent head
- Non-ferrous float
- ViTon seal and o-ring
- Copper coalescing medium

Taco flo-cheks have dependably stopped gravity circulation in forced hot water heating systems for over 40 years. Flo-cheks open automatically when the circulator starts running. They feature a thumb screw to manually open the valve and are available in a cast iron universal body and a bronze sweat in-line configuration.
- Flo-cheks allow heat to flow only into the zones that are calling for heat
- Thumb screw can be manually opened for gravity feed applications if the main circulator stops operating
- Taco flo-cheks open automatically when the circulator starts running
Taco B146-20
Taco Flo-Checks prevent gravity circulation in forced hot water heating systems during periods when the boiler is hot, but the space heating zone is not wanted. This makes it possible to use the heating boiler to maintain domestic hot water year-round. You can also use Flo-Checks in systems with multiple circulator zones to allow heat to flow only into the zones that are calling for heat. In addition, the thumb screw can be opened manually for gravity feed applications, if the main circulator stops operating.

- Open automatically when the circulator starts running, when the room thermostat is satisfied and the circulator is stopped, the flo-checks close immediately, preventing gravity circulation
- Water or glycol media

Taco air scoop's special design and internal baffles of Taco air scoops slow water velocity to separate the air from solution. Thanks to this design, Taco air scoops efficiently remove air to provide noiseless, air-free hydronic heating, cooling or combination systems. They also provide an economic way to integrate air elimination by the connection of either a plain steel or diaphragm expansion tank.
- 1-piece cast iron construction
- Never requires any servicing
- Engineered baffle separates air from water
- Each air scoop has a vent connection on top for the installation of a 1/8" Taco 400-3 or 416-1 Hy-Vent and 1/2" bottom tapping for a diaphragm expansion tank
- The 1-1/2 - 4" air scoops also have an additional top tapping for the connection of a plain steel expansion tank
- Water or water/glycol media
