URD dampers are easy to install, easy to wire up and come with a 5 year warranty. The URD damper is constructed of heavy 24 ga galvanized steel with factory rolled stiffening beads. The nylon bearings and ThermoTuff drive shafts insure smooth, quiet operation and provide a thermal barrier to the motor. The URD is designed to operate reliably at static pressures up to 1.5 in-WC. The UL listed MA-ND5 actuator is a 24 VAC three wire power open/power close type-rated at 18 in-lb of torque. It includes an integrated wiring terminal block and a NEMA 1 rated housing. The MA-ND5 motor features bright green and red LED's which correspond to the open and closed position of the blade. The motor also includes adjustable end stops for Min/Max blade position, that allows for field balancing of the full or minimum cfm flow, into a particular zone or area. The position LED's will illuminate regardless of the end stop positions.

It was in the mid to late 1950s when Richard Foster developed the first automatic motorized dampers, registers and difusers that were thermostatically controlled. He marketed these products under the trade name Zone-A-Trol with another company when in 1964 he founded Trolex Corporation and the start of the well known trade name Trol-A-Temp. In 1999 the Trol-A-Temp brand was acquired by Honeywell.
Since that time, Trolex has continued to manufacture zone dampers for a number of OEMs. In 2004 Trolex re-entered the HVAC market as ZONE-A-TROL and later the ZONEFIRST tradename. This new name signifies the many firsts the company has developed in the HVAC industry.
